Introducing the ProTech 1000: A New Standard in Stable, Drift-Free H₂S Measurement

Galvanic Applied Sciences is proud to introduce the ProTech 1000, the next evolution of our sensing tape analyzer technology. It is designed to deliver the the lowest total cost of ownership of any tape analyzer built for modern, digital gas operations. Users can expect the same reliable performance in measuring H2S, Total Sulfur, Arsine, Phosphine, Phosgene, or Chlorine.

A Seamless Upgrade Built for the Future

The ProTech 1000 is a direct replacement-in-kind for the ProTech903W in Class I Division 2, Class I Zone 2, and IECEx Zone 2 hazardous environments.

Built on the proven ProTech platform, it retains the core functionality customers rely on while introducing improvements across design, connectivity, and usability.

Key Features of the ProTech 1000

Modernized Mechanical and Electronics Design

The ProTech 1000 introduces an updated platform with:

  • A smaller footprint
  • A steel enclosure with IP66 rating
  • A compact, stacked tape transport design
  • Modern electronics with an independent power supply and high-resolution colour display

These changes simplify installation, improve durability, and enhance operator usability.

Smarter, More Efficient Tape Management

The ProTech 1000 includes a precision tape usage counter that is unique to the ProTech platform. This feature:

  • Ensures 70 days of predictable tape consumption under standard analysis conditions
  • Prevents overlapping or inconsistent stain spacing
  • Improves overall consumable efficiency

Potential tape savings per analyzer over 10 years:
  • Tape materials:  – $ 5,400
  • Labor & truck rolls:  – $19,200
  • Total savings: – $24,600

For an average fleet of 5 analyzer, that’s a $123,000 lifetime savings value!

Simplified Connectivity and User Experience

The ProTech 1000 is designed for modern operations and includes:

  • A web browser-based interface with no software installation required
  • Standard dual TCP/IP connectivity
  • A simplified I/O configuration

Users can access and configure the analyzer remotely, reducing commissioning time and maintenance complexity.

Proven Measurement Performance

The ProTech 1000 maintains the same measurement performance as previous models, including:

  • Detection down to 5 ppb across a 0–100 ppb range
  • Measurement capability up to 0–300 ppm without dilution
  • ±2% accuracy and repeatability
  • Fast response time with rapid alarm detection

This ensures continuity in measurement performance while upgrading the platform.

Advanced Analysis Capabilities

The ProTech 1000 includes established analysis methods:

  • Dynamic Peak Detection for high range applications (beyond calibration range)
  • Predictive Alarm Analysis for faster response (≤ 20 Seconds to Alarm) to process changes
  • Flexible analysis modes suitable for both low and high concentration ranges

Long-Term Stability and Sensor Reliability

Using a sensor design that stabilizes LED intensity with drive current, the ProTech 1000 improves both short-term and long-term stability compared to systems that only compensate photodiode output.

The result is:

  • Reduced drift
  • Longer sensor life
  • More consistent readings over time

Built-In Efficiency for Total Sulfur Applications
  • Optional features such as the Hydrogen Saver reduce hydrogen consumption when total sulfur measurement is not required, helping lower operating costs
  • H2S & Total Sulfur in 1 system

Unmatched Selectivity for Gas Phase Detection of  Arsine, Chlorine, Phosgene and Phosphine
  • True selectivity in mixed stream with no false positives or biased readings
  • No sensor drift, avoids electrolyte depletion, membrane degradation, and sensor aging

Designed to Perform in a Competitive Landscape

Compared to other sensing tape analyzers, the ProTech 1000 provides:

  • Improved stability and longer sensor life
  • More precise tape usage control
  • Reduced operating costs through hydrogen optimization
  • A modern interface that does not require additional software

This positions it as a strong solution for H₂S and total sulfur measurement.

The Next Step in ProTech Evolution

The ProTech 1000 represents a platform modernization that extends the value of Galvanic’s sensing tape technology.

For existing ProTech903W users, the transition is straightforward and provides immediate improvements in usability, reliability, and long-term performance.
