[Calgary, AB] — Meet the AccuChrome™ GC5, built on industry-leading miniaturization of a GC system. The GC5 provides significant reduction of gas consumption, ultra-fast analysis, and laboratory-level measurement. The GC5 supports a broad range of applications on a single analyzer using a single carrier gas, including:
- Custody transfer
- Natural gas quality monitoring
- Sulfur speciation, odorant monitoring and Total Sulfur analysis
- Biomethane and renewable natural gas (RNG) quality monitoring
By minimizing analytical chains and eliminating dead volumes, the GC5 reduces carrier gas consumption, accelerates analysis cycles, and enhances measurement precision, detection limits, and reproducibility. One-click operation delivers analysis in under two minutes†, reducing operator burden and specialist dependency. Built-in self verification reduces calibration and maintenance requirements to once per year, supporting reliable long-term field deployment. Designed for automated and remote operation, the GC5 integrates with control systems using Modbus protocols and web-based configuration software.
The GC5 architecture supports up to four independent analytical chains each with its own injector, column, and detector. Modular analytical cores enable faster deployment and reduced downtime, contributing to low mean time to repair (MTTR) in operational environments.
The AccuChrome GC5 delivers exceptional analytical performance with high repeatability and robust limits of detection with low carrier gas consumption using helium, hydrogen, or argon. Standard heating value calculations are compliant with ASTM D3588 (GPA 2172) and ISO 6976.
Multiple application specific measurement suites GC5 are made possible by combining two detector styles (μTCD and NGD). They include heating value for custody transfer and quality, heating value enhanced with either H₂S or mercaptan odorants monitoring, sulfur speciation and Total Sulfur, biogas quality, and trace siloxane and VOC monitoring, allowing operators to select a purpose-built solution aligned to their measurement requirements.
†analysis time will depend on the exact application. Standard heating value analysis is performed on pipeline quality natural gas in 2 minutes or less.
